This is an introduction to people management and is designed to build self-awareness and a deeper understanding of the practice of leadership.
The programme will help participants manage the transition into leadership roles, tackle key initial dilemmas and explore the contextual challenges of leadership.
It also features a series of leadership challenges to enable participants to practically apply key insights and approaches directly to their teams

Key Learning Experiences
Understanding yourself as a leader
Developing self-awareness and emotional intelligence to understand how your style, values and behaviour affect others. Reflecting on your transition into leadership and the challenges of taking up authority.
Leading people and building effective teams
Strengthening your ability to motivate, support and manage performance. Practising how to set direction, give feedback and build trust to achieve results through others.
Managing the transition into leadership
Exploring the shift from individual contributor to people manager. Working with common early leadership dilemmas, identity challenges and role boundaries.
Influencing and managing upwards
Building confidence to influence across and above formal authority. Practising how to manage stakeholder relationships, navigate organisational expectations and communicate with impact.
Applying leadership in real work challenges
Working with live leadership challenges from your own context. Using structured reflection and peer learning to test ideas, refine your practice and build confidence.
Throughout the programme, learning is practical and reflective, combining leadership challenges, case work, peer learning and facilitated reflection to embed insight and build everyday leadership capability.

Your blended experience starts the evening before your programme as you join your fellow participants for dinner so you can get to know each other. Check-in is available from 2pm, providing you with the option to either work from our venue or take advantage of our leisure facilities. Our bar opens at 6pm and dinner is served in the restaurant at 7.30 pm. Accommodation, meals and materials are all included in the fees.
