Nine out of ten people are found to be biased against women, according to a new report from the UN.  It’s a sobering thought.  But some progress is being made.  In the last few years there are more women senior leaders in organisations. The target backed by the UK government in 2011 that FTSE 100 boards should have a minimum of 25% has seen female representation reaching 26% in 2015 and 29% by June 2019. However, still women continue to be underrepresented at every level.  Much is written about the glass ceiling or glass cliff, but the reality is that women face obstacles much earlier in their career.  Quotas, initiatives and policy changes can only go so far.  Focus needs to be on creating environments that empowers all employees and workplaces where everyone thrives – people and business.

Roffey Park Institute’s Empowering Women in Leadership programme is a three-day learning experience designed to engage, support and inspire women, providing space and ideas for how they can increase their leadership impact.  The programme design includes experiential sessions which present a creative focus to think about leadership, using the breath-taking grounds (inside and out) of our venue in West Sussex.

We will create an environment for you to learn from and with each other in a fun and engaging way. There will be ample time to enjoy the surroundings, network and get to know your fellow participants and to take part in a variety of activities

The programme will cover three broad themes:

  • Why Everyday Leadership and Followership Matters
  • Finding your Voice
  • Collaboration, Competition and Power

Over the course of three days, you will experience a range of practical and experiential sessions to enable you to:

  • Network and learn with female leaders sharing insights, experience and ideas
  • Understand how to increase your leadership impact
  • Explore how intersectionality impacts women in leadership
  •  Learn techniques and practice how to use your voice as an instrument for influence
  • Understand how collaboration, competition and power are interconnected

If you are a current organisational leader or a female entrepreneur and you want to enhance your leadership impact, then this programme is for you. You will leave inspired, energised and ready to act!
