We all tell stories, all the time.  As leaders of organisations these are not traditional fictional stories, but take the form of product descriptions, sales pitches, management reports, company accounts, emails, tweets, appraisals, presentations and many more.

Though varied in form and function, these stories deploy a familiar range of narrative elements. They all have characters, settings, moods, environments and motivations.  They all have beginnings, middles and ends, though not necessarily in that order.

Whilst many of these story-forms are written, they are more often performed: we tell far more stories than we write.  Understanding the overlaps and distinctions between the written and oral forms and having the skills to be confident with both are essential to effective communication in the workplace.

Roffey Park Institute invite you to experience a free taster session of our new programme devoted to storytelling. Developed in conjunction with Sounder Ltd, The Storytelling Voice provides a practical first step to understanding the many dimensions of your organisational stories.

This taster event is aimed at HR, L&D and organisational development professionals as well as managers who lead change initiatives within their organisation.  It will be an experiential event that demonstrates the power of the voice in storytelling.  You’ll leave energised and inspired, with practical insights that you can implement immediately back at work.

Places are limited.
