Workshops

Benefits

The Communication Compass

Sabine Stritch, Senior Consultant and Sharon Brockway, Principal Consultant

If we want to influence people who are very different to us, we have to first understand their world, their values and their way of communicating.  The Communication Compass offers a comprehensive, practical model to do just that.  It offers insight into your own particular communication style and how to meet your own and others’ communication needs especially when under stress.

This fun, energetic workshop increases your flexibility in your approach to influencing and getting what you want out of working relationships.

Positive Organisational Politics

James Traeger, Senior Consultant

What sort of political animal are you?  Would you like to find out?

This session will introduce you to a unique questionnaire that will give you an answer to this question, have a bit of fun with a serious edge and provide you with some developmental tips for making progress.

You will benefit by developing your thinking and increasing your skill and confidence to engage in the political life of your organisation in a more positive way.

Resilience at Work

Ashley Dowlen, Roffey Park Associate

More and more often we find ourselves having conversations with people about just how tough it can be at work – too much to do, not enough time, long hours, competing deadlines, oppressive cultures, difficult people and working practices that are often toxic or just plain daft.  So we’ve been looking at what it takes to be more resilient.

This workshop draws on recent research and suggests ways of becoming more resilient.  We will also explore ways of being more effective whilst developing and enjoying work.

Group Session - 'Meaning at Work'
Steve Tarpey, Director of Bespoke Services and Helena Clayton, Director of Open Programmes
Most of us would say that we’d like to work in a role, or in a place, or in way that had some ‘meaning’ to it. But most of us might struggle to say exactly what we meant by that and, of course, ‘meaning’ would mean different things to each of us. This powerful session will give you an opportunity to explore what ‘meaning at work’ means for you and allow you to consider what changes you could make to help you move closer to what is most important for you.

17.15 Close

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at juggling, plate spinning or something a little more adventurous like riding a unicycle or walking on stilts? Well, this is your chance to experiment and have some fun too! Followed by a Barbecue.

Workshop

Benefits

Positive Psychology in the Workplace

Adrian Lock, Senior Consultant

Over the last ten years, the positive psychology movement has gained increasing momentum. Cross-cutting studies have shown how important this area of research is, not only in helping people live happier lives, but also in improving individual and organisational performance.

This workshop will give you an overview of the positive psychology movement and its various streams.  We will also share a case study on how we have used positive psychology principles to help one of our clients improve their performance.

Practical Coaching Skills

Helena Green, Development Consultant and Andy Firth, Senior Consultant

Coaching is here to stay . . . a 2007 survey clearly shows coaching is an increasingly popular way of enabling performance and development, and it is an essential part of the modern manager’s toolkit. This highly interactive session refreshes some tried and tested coaching tools as applied in line management, and offers some new top tips for getting the best out of your people.

Because this session is so participative you will leave having shared and practiced a variety of skills, receiving feedback and insight from the group.

Living in Technicolour

Martin Saville, Senior Consultant

and Sue Belgrave, Senior Consultant

Which You do you offer the world?  The fact is that many of us show up in monochrome, when in truth we are created in amazing, glorious, technicolour.

This workshop will use the power of ancient Celtic poetry to help you create a modern setting of You.  Working experientially, you will gain a deeper understanding of yourself and what you need to let your true colours shine.

By participating in this workshop, you will deepen your understanding of yourself and reconnect with forgotten things that once mattered to you.
