Deepening and broadening your practice as a facilitator
Facilitation has become a key part of the toolkit for consultants, managers and professionals working in a wide range of organisational functions and settings. This programme is intended as a rich, rewarding and challenging experience, which will enable facilitators from different backgrounds to deepen their ability to work with groups in a range of settings and circumstances.
Preparatory work before the programme includes Roffey Park’s Facilitators Questionnaire, which provides participants with a means for assessing their style, impact, strengths and development needs as a facilitator.

- Exploring the nature of facilitation
- Understanding your personal impact as a facilitator through facilitating sessions and receiving feedback
- Understanding group dynamics and making process interventions
- Exploring a range of perspectives on facilitation including experiencing a gestalt approach
- Methodologies in facilitation including large group interventions such as Open Space and Future Search
- Managing and maintaining your ongoing development.

You have already built up experience of facilitation, and are now looking to enhance your impact, competence and confidence. You want to take the opportunity to review your approach and personal style in different situations, learn about a range of approaches to facilitation and gain a deeper practical understanding of the process of working with groups to enable them to be truly effective.
Please note our Practical Facilitation Skills programme is ideal for those who are newer to the field of facilitation. To attend The Art of Facilitation, participants should either have attended Practical Facilitation Skills or feel confident in their core facilitation abilities.
