Michael Jenkins
Chief Executive

Michael spent five years in Singapore as Managing Director and Vice President of the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) Asia Pacific. After graduating from Durham University with an Oriental Studies (Chinese) degree, he went on to study Japanese politics and economics at Nanzan University in Nagoya, Japan before working for Toyota as a motor industry analyst.  After returning to the UK, Michael worked initially at Bath Spa University College and then at the University of Bath as Director of the University’s Foreign Languages Centre. During this time Michael wrote several books on Japan and the Japanese language and in 1993 went to Australia on a Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Fellowship to research the training of Japanese and English interpreters. This resulted in the establishment of the UK’s first MA in Interpreting and Translating for Japanese and English, and Chinese and English. In 1999 he joined INSEAD, based in France, as Regional Director for Japan and Korea. After two years, Michael transferred to Singapore to become Director of INSEAD Executive Education Asia before moving to set up CCL’s Asia Pacific headquarters and establishing CCL in India in 2009. He regularly contributes at conferences on leadership related topics and has a keen interest in leadership in a global context.


Margi Gordon MSc, BA, AMCIPD
Director of Tailored Programmes

Margi is particularly interested in effective leadership and management in organisations and she works closely with clients to design and deliver in-house development programmes. She believes leaders make a key contribution to organisational culture and performance, by making work meaningful and enjoyable. She is the programme director for the Strategic Leadership Programme and she has clients in the oil industry, IT services, local and national government, manufacturing, transport, leasing, banking and financial services. She is interested in evaluating the impact of leadership development on individuals and throughout organisations. Margi has a BA in Education and an MSc in Organisational Behaviour from Birkbeck, University of London.


Jo Hennessy  MA (Oxon), MSc, CPsychol
Director of Research and International Development

Jo oversees a broad spectrum of research enquiries and has a personal involvement in Roffey Park's research programme exploring enlightenment at work. She graduated from Oxford with a degree in Experimental Psychology and also has an MSc in Occupational Psychology. Jo specialises in the design and facilitation of executive development programmes in the areas of leadership and change. She was previously a partner at Human Qualities where she worked across business sectors both in the UK and internationally. Prior to that, Jo headed up Executive Development for Penna and, at Brathay, she managed the team of learning and development consultants, with personal involvement in team facilitation and process consultancy. Jo’s early career was with SHL where she gained experience in managing large-scale assessment/development centre interventions. Jo was Dean of the Association of Business Psychologists 2005 Conference entitled, "Psychology at the Heart of Business" and she has been published on various topics.

Amanda Humphrey MBA, BA(Hons), FCIPD, Cert Ed, FRSA
Director of Resources & Company Secretary

Before joining Roffey Park, Amanda was Business Planning Manager at the Sussex Ambulance Service NHS Trust. Prior to this, she spent five years as Group Operations and Personnel Director for Fruitful Fundraising. Her earlier career which spanned ten years was with the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux where she was an Area Development Officer for the South East and then District Manager and Company Secretary for the Brighton & Hove Area. During this period Amanda also taught 'A' level Psychology at adult education.

Robert Kinnison BA (Hons)
Director of Finance

Robert was previously Head of Finance for nine years at the Edward James Foundation, an educational charitable trust which runs a college providing postgraduate diploma programmes and masters degrees in conservation & restoration and the visual arts. His projects there included leading the successful implementation of the Consensus Database. A Chartered Accountant, he holds a BA (Hons) in Economics and Agricultural Economics from Exeter University.


Gary Miles MA (Oxon), FCIPD
Director of Open Programmes, Events and Associate Relations

Gary has over 20 years experience of working in commercial organisations, both as an HR practitioner and business manager, such as Unilever and Reed Business Publishing. At the Kingfisher Retail Group, he obtained a National Training Award for the strategic contribution of learning and development as well as IIP accreditation. Since joining Roffey Park he has been involved in a number of major client projects spanning private, public and not for profit sectors and focussing on HR and senior management development, leadership, talent management and executive coaching. He is programme director of Strategic Human Resources and HR Business Partnering as well as Director of Associate Relations, responsible for the recruitment and development of Roffey Park's associate team. His current clients are drawn from higher education, local government, manufacturing, oil, and IT sectors. Gary has also served as a local government councillor and been an active member of the CIPD.


Andy Smith MA, BA, Cert Gestalt
Director of Qualifications, Partnerships and Coaching

Andy has 20 years experience as a developer, consultant and manager. His work has spanned small and large organisations, the private and public sectors, policy development and operations. Andy is Programme Director for Roffey Park's MSc in People and Organisational Development and the Interpersonal Relationships in Organisations programme. He is also a member of the tutor teams for The Art of Facilitation and OD Practitioner Programmes. His most recent research focused on the world of virtual management. A Master Practitioner of NLP, a Diploma in Systems Thinking and real interests in Gestalt, group dynamics and change in complex systems all inform Andy’s practice.
